COLUMBUS (OhioStateBuckeyes.com) - Ohio State maintained its second-place position in the 2009-10 Learfield Directors' Cup standings with seven spring NCAA championships already complete. With 1000.50 points, Ohio State trails only Stanford as Virginia, Duke and North Carolina round out the top five. The Buckeyes finished third in men's volleyball, fifth in men's tennis, 17th in women's tennis and 34th in women's golf for a spring total of 187 points. The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women's and seven men's. GO BUCKS |
