Courtesy: OhioStateBuckeyes.com...Evan Turner, the 2010 Ohio State Male Athlete of the Year and winner of six national collegiate player of the year awards, was named the 2010 Big Ten Jesse Owens Athlete of the Year, the conference office announced Wednesday. Turner swept the 2010 college basketball season player of the year awards after claiming the Naismith Trophy and John R. Wooden Award, as well as the Sporting News, USBWA, Associated Press and NABC POY awards. The junior guard also was the Big Ten Player of the Year and the Most Outstanding Player at the annual Big Ten tournament, which the Buckeyes captured with a win over Minnesota. Turner averaged 20.4 points and 9.4 rebounds in 2010 as his Buckeye team reached the Sweet 16 of the 2010 NCAA Tournament. |

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Ohio State men's track and field team enjoyed a record-breaking final day of competition Saturday at the 2010 NCAA East Regional Preliminaries. Jeff See, Cory Leslie and OSU's four-time defending Big Ten champion 4x400m relay team will represent the Buckeyes June 9-12 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., joining Matt DeChant and Thomas Murdaugh, who secured invitations Friday evening. |

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Channeling its excitement from having Ohio State President Gordon Gee throw out the first pitch, the No. 19 Ohio State softball team jumped ahead early - thanks to back-to-back home runs by seniors Sam Marder and Courtney Pruner - and held off Northwestern, 9-6, Friday evening. Senior Megan Miller earned her 12th win of the season while NU's Jessica Smith (9-7) took the loss. |
